The PC WhispererThis page is about highlighting how IT can benefit ALL members of the community and the many ways in which IT can improve lives when it is not used purely for commercial purposes. The first organisation we would like to highlight and recommend is the Worcestershire Lifestyles Charity http://www.worcestershire-lifestyles.org.uk. They are an independent charity established in 1991 to enable disabled people to exercise freedom of choice, extend their horizons and make decisions about the lifestyle they wish to pursue.

They offer support and assistance to disabled people who wish to be in control of their own life. They believe that each person is an individual, and has the right to make choices about what they do and aim towards in everyday life.IT is an important aspect of the skills they teach, as they offer disabled people the opportunity to acquire a wide range of new exciting skills recycling computers. In addition, they offer a range of accredited computer related training courses to cover all learning requirements, everything from Entry Level introduction to learning about basic operating skills. They have a very well equipped teaching/learning facility and workshop based at Checketts Lane Industrial Estate, Worcester.

This is a fantastic charity and I found out about them when I bought one of their machines, it is a great machine and cost less than a new one. The beauty of buying their machines is that it helps people to make life choices and be independent and is also good for the environment because of the recycling aspect! The machines are ideal for anyone new to computer owning or if you need a back up machine or one for a small business. Every home should have one! Visit their website and find out all about them or ask us to tell you all about them.

If you know of any other situations where IT makes a big difference to peoples lives email mike@the-pc-whisperer.co.uk and we will be happy to publicize the good news!
